Project Description:

The project of the new reception is part of a renovation project so the big challenge was to build a welcome area with a strong identity, integrating elements with a pre-exixting structure. Thus, the fit out created an evocative and emotional space, which tells the company’s history through old documents and involve the visitor in a cognitive experience with the surrounding space, returning visions and suggestions.

During design phase we worked on important values: Human being, technology, innovation and internationalization. All these elements are represented through the images of realized infrastructures: bridges, tunnels, railway transports, etc. The wide entrance is organized around three keypoints:

  • The anvil, starting point of company’s history and its symbol, it is situated in the center of the reception and welcomes guests addressing the view to the two other focal points;
  • The Welcome Desk, made of a unique folded and shaped iron sheet; and
  • The evocative wall, which connects the entrance with the hallway bringing to the production area.

This last element allowed to develop the history in linear form, with a narration through the four elements: earth, air, water and fire. They’re all well represented by the sculpture in iron-wire which runs along the wall giving back a two-level tale: the wire and photo panels. The sculpture was made by the young artist Federica Giudici.

From the beginning of the project it was clear that the main material should be iron, which remembers with its faceting the shapes of the external façade. The wall’s panels required a combined work of design and engineering from both the teams of Taramelli and Gualini. The result is the movement given by plain panels in iron and the recessed photo ones, which are printed on plastoferrite magnets, allowing if necessary, to change photos.
